i mange år. Højdepunkterne var verdensmesterskaberne i 1934-38 samt 1982.
Italien var tæt på i 1994 mod Brasilien. Senest blev Italien igen verdensmestre
ved VM i Tyskland 2006.
De italienske kendetegn er fremragende teknik,
eminent kombinationsspil samt en vis fysisk styrke og oftest kompakt
forsvarsspil. Svaghederne har altid været humørsyge samt målscoring. Blandt de
bedste profiler må nævnes Meazza, Boniperti, Parola, Maldini, Buffon, Rivera,
Riva, Rossi, Schillaci og Dino Zoff.

many years. The peaks were of course the W.C in 1934,1938 and 1982. In 1994
Italy was so even close against Brazil. Again at the World Championship 2006 in
Germany the Italian team won again for the fourth times;only Brazil has been
better.
