BERLIN - I have visited the capitol of Germany around the year, the first time was a January weekend in 1967. As always the winter is cold in Berlin. At those days one could discover a certain differentia of the area of Berlin. West was glamorous, East was depraved. West was light and fun and busy time, East was dark, controlled and stereotype.
The train brought me through East Germany via East Berlin to West Berlin. The former Communist-country DDR was a mountain of bureaucracy during the travel.

After the collapse of the Iron Curtain I have been in the city some days, always with pleasure. The power-point-show above provides some picturial impressions over time. In recent days Berlin has experienced great hours by hosting the WM-final in soccer at the famous Olympia Stadium (July 2006), in May 2006 the new Lehrter Bahnhof was inaugurated and later on shall follow the central airport Brandenburg (re-established upon the former DDR Schönefeld in the south east area of the city) as a replacement and supplement to the old famous Tegel and Temmpelhof.

Without any doubt I shall return to Berlin, not feeling that "Ich bin ein Berliner", however enjoy and watch the greater area of the 3,5mio. city.
