Dom Joao II - Algarve - Portugal - udgjorde anden
halvleg af min (3die) bryllupsrejse (første halvleg var London). Hotellet var
velplaneret, velfungerende og havde et meget smuk og klassisk
restaurationsområde. Morgenmads- og aftenbuffeterne udgjorde en fremragende
blanding af arkitektonisk og kulinarisk oplevelse. Hotelområdet var omkranset af
såvel en meget lang og smuk sandstrand samt et mindre og seværdigt portuguisisk
bysamfund, der kun i nogen grad levede op til sit navn Alvor. Hotellet var en
rekreativ forkælelse af de bedre. Stedet bekræftede min meget positive fordom om
Portugal og portuguiserne.
Dom Joao II - Algarve - Portugal - constituted the
second half of my third honeymoon (first half was London). The hotel was
well-planned, well-runned and had a very beautiful surroundings as well as a
fine resort for restaurants and leisures. The buffet of breakfast and supper
were indeed excellent mixed up with an artistic experience of a nice
building-style. Around one found a wonderful long and beauty beach. In the
neighborhood there was a picturesque little city by the name Alvor (= in danish
"serious"). The hotel was a splendid recreative area of the very best. The place
as a whole confirmed my positive prejudice about Portugal and the portugusian..
